Hey Spons, what is the login information for the snipes site? Also, is there a way to upload pictures to the site, or do we email them to you?
Here's an idea. Set up a page on the site called "sea-stories" where members can post or up-load interesting/funny stories that happened while serving on board.
Man, it sure is good being able to keep in touch like this.
Ok Rick and Richard I got your comments , Rick M. did you have to register to post? looks like you have it figured out now,
Richard F. I will need to do some research to see it we can post on the web site. it has limited features and I have been playing with the idea of moving it to another site with lots of bells and whistles. I have this blog set up so I get a email notice when a comment or post is written, did either of you guys do that? later, Brent
No, I didn't register to post. I just clicked on "other", did the word verification thing (what's that all about?), previewed, and posted. It worked at least that one time. I have to admit that this is the first blog I have ever been on. This is kind of neat but I don't have much desire to start getting on blog sites and start bs'ing with whoever about whatever. Maybe you guys will drag me kicking and screaming into the 21st century.
Rick the word verification is to stop any automated software from posting advertisements and other commercial stuff on the site, I can disable the word verification but we may get junk on the site. thanks for using this site, you and richard f are the lead techies wow . you are already into the 21 st century, swish doesnt have a computer!!!!
I sent an e-mail out to yous guys (that's Yankee for Y'all) but didn't hear back from anyone except Mr. Farley. Does anyone remember Calvin Smith? Should I try to get ahold of him and/or Roger Davis? Does anyone have any idea what Crocker's first name is or his home city? Any input would be appreciated.
Rick, I doubt that many of the shipmates are watching this blog yet so if you send an email with the request again, to all their email addresses you might get a reply, Yea that was smitty in the picture, and we tried to find him and Ronnie Hampton, but of course we tried to find you and chuck and pete and didnt do too well . you found chuck faster than any of us.
I dont remember crockers first name but Jim mulder may. I will email him and see if he remembers him and there was a coleman em2 or em1 if I remember correctly . later, Brent
Hey Snipes, I'm still waiting for the bulk of you to return the questionairres I sent to you several weeks ago. This is your chance to have a say in reunion planning, activities, expenditures and etc. Don't get lazy on me! Fill 'em out and send 'em in! Turn to! Commence ship's work!
Hey there shipmates, Donna and I wish each of you and your families a very merry Christmas! And, hey Spons, your Christmas card was terrific (as usual). I hope you have managed to save a card from each Christmas. I'd love to see them displayed at a future reunion. Here's hoping each of you are happy, healthy and warm and anticipating our 6th reunion as much as Donna and I are. Happy Holidays Snipes!
Thanks Dan, hope you Donna have a great Christmas as well. I do have a card from every year and will bring them to the reunion . its fun to try to think up something neat each year. later. spons
Now Hear This! The July 2008 reunion is beginning to take shape! If everything goes as anticipated, we will have several first-timers attending our Snipe Reunion. They include (but are not necessarily limited to) Pete Bullock, Rick Miller, Chuck Johnston, John Dickerson and Carl Snyder! I'm sure you all join me in looking forward to seeing these guys and hearing some new sea stories! The last weekend of July will be here before you know it so start planning!

I tried this once but it didn't post so I will try it again. We may need lessons Spons. Seems like a great idea if I can figure how to do it.
OK, I had to set up a Google account to post, but it was very easy. Just click the link below the comment box if you don't already have an account.
Thanks Spons for setting this up. So much better than the rare "mail-call" for keeping in touch.
